Manson Chamber of Commerce has announced the 21st annual Independence Day fireworks celebration will unfold July 4. The pandemic has resulted in the chamber opting not to host the annual concert with the Lake Boys or other traditional events in the park for the holiday.

"The decision to move forward with the fireworks was made by the entire Manson Chamber board and based on...we contacted the sheriff, we contacted the fire department, we contacted the parks department to make sure we could partner and have a successful and safe show," said Debbie Conwell, executive director.

Conwell added hearing that the city of Wenatchee was still hosting its fireworks display also encouraged Manson to move forward with the celebration. The city of Chelan is not holding its firework show, so this will be a consolidation for the neighboring areas.

"The bay makes it easy to see from many locations and that helps maintain social distancing," said Conwell.

The chamber will provide a map for folks to see optimal locations to watch the display over the bay. The celebration will be at 10:15 p.m. on July 4.

The chamber is also accepting donations here for folks to chip in for the fireworks display.
