East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford will not be retaining current Municipal Court Judge Chancy Crowell.

Crawford said she will announce Crowell's replacement in just a couple of weeks.

"His contract ends at the end of this year, so it's an opportunity for me just to explore all options." explained Crawford, "I've decided to go in a different direction."

Crowell first began his role as municipal judge in 2010. The position is a 4-year contract.

Per East Wenatchee city code, the mayor has the right to appoint municipal judges.
