Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies Involved in Search for Body in Nason Creek Area

Members of the Chelan County Sheriff's Office are assisting King County Deputies search in the Highway 2 area for a potential dead body.

King County Sgt. Tim Meyer says it's connected to a case where they believe two Chinese nationals killed a 24-year-old man in Newcastle in November.

"We believe that after the homicide occurred the body was discarded someplace near Highway 2 or the Highway 97 area. That was based on GPS and other data. Based on that they've conducted numerous searches including the most recent one this past Wednesday near milemarker 82 off Highway 2."

One of the men is in custody in China. Another was arrested before he boarded a plane to go overseas.

Sgt. Meyer says if you are in that area and come across something, please reach out to law enforcement.

"We believe it may have been discarded in some kind of rug or carpet and so that's what searchers are looking for along that Highway 2 corridor. This is one of many searches that have been done and their work remains ongoing as we try to bring some closure to the family."
