The North Central Washington Special Investigations Unit has released the names of the two Okanogan County Sheriff's deputies and one Omak Police detective linked to the fatal officer involved shooting in Riverside March 3rd.

39-year-old Ryan Bass, from Okanogan County, was being sought on a felony warrant. When law enforcement contacted him near Riverside Grocery on North Main Street, he allegedly shot several rounds toward them.

Deputy Jody Barcus, Deputy Justin Malone, and Detective Brian Bowling returned fire, striking and killing Bass. No law enforcement agents were injured.

Deputy Barcus has 2.5 years with Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Malone has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 8 months, and detective Bowling has been with the Omak Police Department for 7 years.

The North Central Washington Special Investigation Unit is a multi-jurisdictional team with Chelan County Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, East Wenatchee Police Department, Okanogan County Sheriff's Office, Wenatchee Police Department, and the Washington State Patrol. Washington State Patrol is the lead agency for this incident.
