Olympia Man Airlifted After Motorcycle Accident in Twisp

An Olympia man is recovering from serious injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on State Route 20 outside of Twisp Monday evening.

Washington State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said 25-year-old Matthew Hoover was driving his 2013 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound when the car in front of him slowed down to make a left turn onto Ayers Road.

"The rider of the motorcycle was following too close." Bryant said, "He ended up locking up the brakes and dropping the motorcycle on its side, which slid and he fell off."

Hoover was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital. He was cited for following too closely.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.
