A flatbed truck overturned on State Route 282 just east of SR 17 Friday afternoon around 3:00 pm, closing the roadway between SR 17 and Airport Street and covering it in debris.

Grant County Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman said crews worked hard to clear what appeared to be roofing material and galvanized steel off of the roadway.

"Clearly the vehicle was overloaded," stated Foreman.

The driver, 55-year-old Levi Turcotte of Soap Lake, was uninjured and cited for the accident as well as driving on a suspended license. The roadway was blocked for about two and a half hours.
