Pangborn Memorial Airport is boasting a record year for 2019.

The airport saw 127,967 passengers in 2019, a new record.

Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority Director of Airports Trent Moyers stated that adding a fourth flight from Thanksgiving to New Years definitely helped, as 12,602 passengers flew through Pangborn in December.

"We've not seen those types of numbers in the month of December since I've been here, or going back even further," said Moyers.

A big advantage in attracting interest from airlines is the airport's strong 'load factor', or the percentage of seats sold per flight. According to a press release, Pangborn's average monthly load factor remained above 74%.

"When you can have a number that's above that 74% range, that's a good metric for the airlines. Those are numbers they like to see. On a consistent basis we've been able to provide that type of usage." continued Moyers, "So thanks to the traveling public for getting on the airplanes out of Wenatchee."

Looking further into 2020, Moyers added that their biggest priority still remains securing service to multiple destinations, such as the Bay Area, Phoenix or Las Vegas.
