Former 8th District Representative Dave Reichert is passing up a run for Washington state governor.

The former Republican Congressman issued a statement yesterday saying he's decided not to challenge current Governor Jay Inslee on his bid for a third term.

Reichert says he made the decision after "much thoughtful prayer and discussion with family and friends."

He added that he's happy with his current job at the local lobbying firm Gordon Thomas Honeywell Governmental Affairs, where he's working to help countries in Central America develop tools for tracking down missing children.
