Royal City Police Name New Chief

The Royal City Police Department announced that they have promoted Rey Rodriguez to the position of Chief succeeding Darin Smith.

Rodriguez started his law enforcement career as a reserve deputy, with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office in 2008.

In May 2009, he was hired as a provisional officer for the Royal City Police Department.

He was named the interim Chief in October of 2019 when Smith was on extended leave and has run the RCPD since that time.
