Semi-Truck Fire Closed SR 17 for Several Hours Sunday Night

State Route 17 was closed for several hours Sunday a few miles north of Dry Falls State Park due to a semi truck fire.

According to the Douglas County Fire District 5 Facebook page, when crews arrived on scene a little before 9:00 p.m. both the tractor and the trailer were fully engulfed in flames.

The truck was hauling fiberglass bathtub/shower units which had to be manually unloaded by fire personnel to control the fire within the trailer.

The driver of the semi was able to escape injury.

No cause of the fire was listed.
