A Silver Alert ended tragically Tuesday.

The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office had issued the alert around 9:00 am Tuesday.

77-year-old Alberta Russell of Tonasket left her residence around noon Monday, stating that she wanted to check on her father's residence.

State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said, "However her father had passed away in the 1990's, quite a long time ago. She was described as being disoriented when she left, and basically hasn't driven a vehicle in years."

A cell phone ping put Russell in the area of Sherman Pass from approximately 2:40 pm to 6:40 pm Monday evening.

According to the Ferry County Sheriff's Office, Russell was discovered deceased Tuesday. Her next of kin has been notified.
