The Malaga-Alcoa Highway was closed for a portion of Sunday afternoon, and 300 nearby residents were without power after an SUV ran into a power pole.

Chelan County Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Lewis says the cause is under investigation.

"It sheered [the pole] off and basically knocked power lines on top of their vehicle. Two occupants inside the car, both had non-life threatening injuries and they're at the hospital for treatment."

During the road closure, traffic was detoured using Wenatchee Heights from Squilchuck Rd and Stemilt Hill Road.
