Upper Valley Park & Recreation Service Area & Leavenworth Plan Summer Assessment for 2022 Levy

The Upper Valley Park & Recreation Service Area (PRSA) and the city of Leavenworth will be hiring a consultant to conduct a recreation needs assessment. The assessment will be done over the course of this upcoming summer in preparation for an updated levy set for spring 2022.

"We are doing this needs assessment to help gather information for us to write a new levy to bring to voters," said Kiah Patzkowsky, PRSA coordinator. "The overarching goal is to gather information from the community to learn what the recreational priorities of the community are so we can take that information and build that into a new levy."

The current PRSA levy expires in 2022 with those levy funds directed toward operations, maintenance and administrative support for the public pool in Leavenworth.

"What we're envisioning is doing things like surveys, maybe even some mailers, we also want to engage with the community hopefully in person," said Patzkowsky. "We want to ask them some questions and see what they want from the PRSA."

The PRSA is a Special Purpose District representing Chelan County, the City of Leavenworth, Peshastin Community Council, Chumstick Community Council, and Cascade School District #228.

Submissions for proposals from consultant firms will be accepted until May 7 with results and the analysis due by October 2021.
