The Wenatchee School Board announced Monday that they will meet Tuesday to give Julie Norton the oath of office to take Position #5 on the board, but the other open position will be determined during an executive session.

The other selected candidate, Maria Inquiez, was chosen on a 2-1 vote January 9th.

In a statement, the School District says, "Due to the highly unusual circumstances of appointing two board members at one time and upon further review of the board’s policy and in consultation with district legal counsel, it was determined that there needed to be at least three yes votes for a candidate to be appointed."

Norton will be sworn in and then immediately help decide the candidate that will fill the other open position on the board.
