
Wenatchee Wild Player Collapses On Ice
Friday night's BC Hockey League game in Trail B.C. between the Smoke Eaters and visiting Wenatchee was cancelled.
Wenatchee Wild Defenceman Connor Overson experienced a medical emergency on the ice Friday night during the first period of the game.
Following his collapse, Overson was taken Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for care.
According to the team's Twitter page, both teams agreed to cancel the rest of the Friday night game.
Wenatchee Wild Coach Chris Clark tweeted, "Our thoughts and prayers are with Connor as he goes for further testing at the local hospital," after the game was cancelled.
New updates of Overson's condition are positive as of Friday night. Clark recently tweeted, "We are happy to report that after further testing Connor was discharged tonight, and is expected to make a full recovery." Clark thanks everyone, "From the Smoke Eaters who helped Julia and Phil when the injury occurred." Clark also thanked Head Official Grant Tyson, "Who was also there helping." Additional thanks to the staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for their care.
Wenatchee Wild concludes their regular season in Cranbrook, B.C. Saturday night.
