The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, the WIAA, has delayed the start of fall sports.

At Tuesday's executive board meeting, the start of football has been pushed to September 5th, while other fall sports can start on the 7th.

The football season was scheduled to start on the 4th.

The WIAA did not indicate exact expectations for state high schools, but did say they are working with all necessary parties as to the pandemic's impact.

The next big announcement on fall sports could come on July 22nd after the next board meeting.
