The Soap Lake School District is holding online only classes for middle and high school students for nearly two weeks because of COVID-19.

The district sent letters out with students Monday afternoon announcing the immediate change, saying its being done because of a staffing shortage related to the virus.

In person classes will resume in Soap Lake on Monday, October 11th, although the elementary school is not being affected by the closure.

The district says it'll release information on how food service and sports will be handled Tuesday.

Middle and high school students are required to be online in their Zoom classes Wednesday after enrolling in each teacher's Google classroom Tuesday.

The letter announcing remote learning was sent out by Soap Lake School Superintendent and Middle/High School Principal Sunshine Pray, Middle/High School Assistant Principal Angela Rolfe and Elementary Principal Kandice Hansen.
