WSDOT Requests Ephrata’s Partnership for a Second Roundabout
Washington State Department of Transportation is looking for support from the city of Ephrata for a second roundabout at SR 282 and Nat Washington Way, locally known as the Wal-Mart intersection. The city council will be discussing the request for partnership in broad terms at the Wednesday night meeting.
"We scheduled another meeting for the fifth of February. There would be a WSDOT representative there at that time to answer some basic questions," said Wes Crago, city administrator. "If the council decides to move forward, we would do so with a set of public hearings and an open house."
There would be plenty of opportunity for community input before the council committed any money or takes a formal stance.
According to Crago, the city of Ephrata has participated in the past and conducted an engineering study about 15 years ago.
