While Chelan county will have nothing on the April 28th ballot, about 1,300 Douglas county residents will be eligible to vote in the next election.

Auditor Thad Duvall said registered voters in the Bridgeport and Mansfield areas will be voting on items regarding Doulgas-Okanogan Fire District 15 and the hospital district.

Due to social distancing guidelines, people who want to watch the vote tabulation will either have to do so through a window or a monitor in the foyer, and those processing the votes will be protected and prepared.

"We have personal protective equipment up here. We're using gloves ... we have plenty of hand sanitizer and things like that." Duvall said, "We're employing all the (social distancing) methods."

Ballots will be mailed Tuesday, April 7th, meaning voters should have their ballot by the following weekend, April 10th at the latest.

"The courthouse is closed to the public and we're doing most of our business online, by mail, or by the telephone. So if people want to come view the elections process they would need to give us a call." explained Duvall, "At this time we're exploring electronic means by which people might be able to attend the public elections meetings, such as Webex or live streaming."

Okanogan County has six districts on the ballot.
