Chelan County Building Official to Resign

Chelan County Building Official Chris Young is on the list of resignations for Monday's county commission meeting.

Young served as Community Development Director from January until March after Jim Brown resigned to position, saying it was partially due to a bad relationship with one commissioner.

Young hasn't publicly stated why he's leaving.

Commissioners replaced him in the Community Development position with county assessor Deanna Walter, saying it was taking longer than expected to find a permanent replacement.

Brown had served in the position for less than two years.

Walter is scheduled to address commissioners about updates in the Community Development department on Tuesday morning.
