The Chelan County Sheriff's Office will fill its open Chief of Special Operations position by promoting longtime sergeant Chris Foreman.

Sheriff Brian Burnett stated that Foreman will now be responsible for overseeing the county's detectives, the Columbia River Drug Task Force, Emergency Management, SWAT program, Marine Patrol and more.

"Chris just has a wealth of information to bring to the table, including sixteen years of SWAT experience along with drug enforcement." said Burnett, "He's got great network skills outside (of the department). In a command, mid-management-level position that's really important to have those outside contacts as we're working to do different things."

Burnett, who helped hire Foreman back in 2003, added that he has filled several positions in his time with the Sheriff's Office including field training officer, patrol corporal and drug task force supervisor. Foreman is the current Vice President for the Washington State Narcotics Investigators Association.

Foreman will fill the role last held by Sergeant Jason Reinfeld, who is now leading the county's Emergency Management division.
