Chelan Douglas Health District Gears Up for Local Vaccine Distribution

The Town Toyota Center is set to be a COVID-19 vaccination site next week with the Chelan Douglas Health District preparing for Monday.

"One of the big things that we need, is don't just show up," said Luke Davies, Chelan Douglas Health District administrator. "The big issue that we have right now is that the doses are coming in dribs and drabs."

The health district is working with the state Department of Health on its sign up, registration system with hopes CDHD can roll out the registration process this weekend.

"As the federal government releases them (vaccine doses), we only get an allocation once a week that meets a certain amount," said Davies. "We're going to have one (vaccination) for everyone that wants them, but it may be in the next ten, fifteen, twenty weeks."

The hope is to have information released to the public, such as where to call and how to get directed to get in line for a vaccination, by this Sunday at the latest.
