Chelan Fire and Rescue crews responded to a structure fire a little after midnight Friday morning.

Chief Mark Donnell says the blaze was on Shadow Lane near the airport.

"First arriving apparatus found a 40 X 10 shop/storage shed fully involved with fire spread to another outbuilding and stock pens along with possible exposure to residence.  We were in a difficult time due to lack of manpower to get this under control. A second alarm was called at 00:47."

Manson fire arrived to assist with the blaze which was contained by around 1:30 a.m.

Donnell says crews were on scene until after 2:30 a.m.

"Estimated fire loss and cause of the fire are still under investigation at this time but it is believed to have been started by heat lamp in stock pen. No injuries were reported."

Chelan Fire & Rescue is reminding the community that when using heat lamps and devices during the winter months to please take all necessary precautions to avoid any possibility of fire.
