Chelan Structure Fire Results in Total Loss of Home, Minor Injury

Chelan County Fire District 7 responded to a structure fire at 114 East Center Street at roughly 10:30 a.m. Friday. The fire resulted in the home being a total loss and a minor injury for the sole occupant at the time of the fire.

"First people on scene reported a working structure fire with smoke coming out of the backside of the building," said Brandon Asher, assistant fire chief. "There was one occupant in the building that made it out safely, but he did have a small minor burn to his right arm."

Crews quickly knocked the fire down upon arrival. The fire is being investigated and according to Asher, it looks like the fire started in the attic and dropped down into the main living room of the home.

Chelan County Fire District 5 and Chelan EMS also responded to the fire.
