Community Foundation of North Central Washington Promotes Community Philanthropy With The ‘Give 10 Program’
The Community Foundation of North Central Washington has opened a grant funding request program called Give 10. The CFNCW is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing grant funding to a variety of good causes in our region, such as public schools, libraries, museums, parks, law enforcement, health services, and local non profit agencies.
Beth Stipe with the Community Foundation of North Central Washington says Give 10 is a grant funding opportunity for people to donate 10% of their estate to promote the causes and charities they care about. "If each person in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties did leave 10% of their estate to a non-profit or a cause in their community, we would have a permanent endowed fund."
Community philanthropy gives everyone a chance to chip in and contribute to the community they love, and helps support the non-profit work that makes North Central Washington a desirable place to live.
Stipe says when people are doing their estate planning, this is a great way to give back to the community. "When people are thinking about their estate planning, to consider leaving a portion of their estate to benefit their community," she said, "In any way that is important to them-to any cause that is important to them."
