Confluence Health Announces New CEO

The Confluence Health Board of Directors have a new CEO in place, concluding a search that began last fall.

Dr. Andrew Jones was previously the Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs of SLC Health St. Mary's Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Communications Director Katie Grove said Jones was selected because he understands how to deliver complex care in a rural environment.

"Many of the people that recommended him said, 'You have the right guy. He can work across every level management and also enjoys getting his hands dirty and working with patients," Grove said.

Jones replaces current CEO Dr. Peter Rutherford, who is retiring after 10 years with Confluence.

Jones was selected from among three candidates. He and staff are still working on a transition plan and start date.
