County Unemployment Picture Improves Slightly in February, to Look Dramatically Different in March

Chelan County unemployment improved slightly in Februrary going from 6% to 5.9% in the latest figures provided by the state's Employment Security Department.

Douglas County also experienced a slight drop from 7% to 6.8%.

Grant County's unemployment rate was 8.6%.

Those numbers are expected to rise dramatically when numbers are released in April about March's unemployment as claims jumped from 6,548 the week ending March 7th to 133,464 two weeks later.

The state had 4.2% unemployment in February.
