An Eastmont Junior High student is in custody after being accused of threatening to harm the school over social media.

According to the East Wenatchee Police Department, School Resource Officer Ivy Jacobsen was told by principal David Woods Monday that a student may be on campus with a firearm. School administrators soon discovered that the juvenile suspect was not on campus and was instead at home.

Administrators then allegedly provided Jacobsen with screenshots from Instagram and Snapchat where the student threatened to harm the school during lunch and included a photo of a firearm.

The juvenile was arrested without incident and was booked into Chelan County Juvenile Detention on felony harassment charges.
