24-year-old Jacob McDonald of Ellensburg died Sunday on State Route 97 in a two-car accident.

The Washington State Patrol says McDonald was driving north near Swauk Campground when he lost control of his 2007 GMC Canyon and spun out. He came to rest in the southbound lane where he was struck by a 2012 Chevy Malibu.

All three people involved were transported Central Washington Hospital where McDonald was declared dead.

The State Patrol says speed too fast for conditions by McDonald is the cause of the accident.
