Fatal Accident Claims Life of Othello Man

A 59-year-old Othello man died after a fatal car accident on State Route 28 Wednesday.

The State Patrol says Tito Mendez was driving a Nissan Maxima on Road K NW when he entered the highway failing to yield the right of way and was struck by an Ephrata man driving a Ford F150 and both vehicles ended up in the ditch.

Mendez was transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have been involved and no charges will be filed.
