Fatal Accident Kills One Near Royal City

A 70-year-old Seattle woman died in a fatal accident Wednesday night on SR 26 just west of Royal City.

The State Patrol says the unidentified woman, driving a Dodge Grand Caravan, was attempting to pass a semi-truck around 8:20 when she collided with a GMC Sierra being driven by a 20-year-old Royal City man.

He was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital, then to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The woman was declared dead at the scene.

The State Patrol says the cause was unsafe passing.
