Local Tel will be providing free wi-fi access at Kiwanis Methow Park after an agreement was reached with the City of Wenatchee.

Capital Projects Manager Charlotte Mitchell says it will not be a totally open access point.

"We will be filtering, in case you were worried about that, the content. We've asked Local Tel and there's a list of things that will be filtered."

Those include piracy, pornography or nudity, gambling, child abuse, hacking and phishing website, though the list could expand.

Mitchell says with this approval, it opens the door for other parks to get the same treatment.

Internet does shut off when the park closes.
