Governor Jay Inslee is citing the need for healthcare worker protection when questioned about Senate Bill 5751. The Washington State Hospital Association is opposed to the bill, which impacts nursing staff ratios.

"We also have to find a way to staff these hospitals and that means going forward, we'll have to have increase training for people, attentive to compensation to bring them into the industry and we have to continue our efforts to build long term care capacity," said Gov. Inslee.
