Grant County Commissioners to Meet on Possible Fireworks Ban for 2021

Grant County Commissioners are meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss a recommendation from Fire Marshal Nathan Poplawski regarding banning the sales and use of fireworks for this year only.

In a letter to the commissioners Poplawski says the area meets the definition for "Extreme Fire Danger" based on the heat wave and expected winds.

He also noted that he polled area fire chiefs and commissioners with a majority supporting his push for a one-year ban though he noted a couple were opposed.

The meeting will take place at 3:20 and can be watched via Zoom.
