Grant County Health District will not apply to move forward into Phase 3 after case numbers were presented to the Board of Health Wednesday evening. Due to a surge in cases, the county doesn't meet the metrics to move to Phase 3.

"We are meeting the metrics when it comes to contacting our patients within 24 hours and our contact tracing is meeting the directive, however our health officer is increasingly concerned about the sharp uptick of COVID-19 in Grant County," said Theresa Adkinson, administrator.

According to Adkinson, the district has been taking two week increments and monitoring the data while consulting weekly with the health officer.

"We currently (Thursday afternoon) have 270 cases. We have to have less than 25 cases in a two week period," said Adkinson.
