Grant County Jail Escapee Back Behind Bars

The Grant County Sheriff's Office and Ephrata Police Department located and arrested Carlos Camarena, who escaped from the Grant County Jail about a month ago, Saturday at a home on G Street Northeast.

PIO Kyle Foreman said Camarena was located through an anonymous tip. Camarena was taken back into custody without incident and will face additional charges that will be tacked on to his original sentence.

"He did not give any indication about why he fled and at this point it's just irrelevant," stated Foreman.

Camarena was a non-violent jail trustee who walked away from the jail while emptying trash July 4th.
