An impaired driver of a 1992 Honda Accord allegedly caused a collision with a 32 foot flatbed trailer Sunday morning near Walla Walla Point Park and Town Toyota Center. Wenatchee Police Department responded to the incident.

"It was a very high energy collision with series injuries sustained for both the driver and passenger," said Captain Edgar Reinfeld. "It had been reported to be basically running hot laps in the area, going very fast in the area of Walla Walla and North Miller immediately before this occurred."

The driver was Cody Simmons, 27, East Wenatchee, and his passenger, Marlon Majano, 27, Cashmere.

"They were both required extrication, they had to be cut out of it by by Fire District 1 and taken to Central Washington Hospital with serious injuries," said Captain Reinfeld.

The truck driver was not hurt.

"Speed and intoxication are both considered factors in this collision at this time," said Captain Reinfeld.
