Labor Day Traffic Outlook
The Washington State Department of Transportation is anticipating heavier than normal weekend traffic for Labor Day weekend.
Communications Manager Barbara LaBoe said drivers should expect delays wherever they travel. That means being prepared by packing extra food and snacks and pandemic-related supplies like hand sanitizer and masks.
"Pack your patience as well." explained LaBoe, "Lots of people are trying to get different places this weekend and we all just want to get there safely. Getting upset or driving aggressively isn't going to help anyone and it could end up ruining everyone's weekend."
LaBoe also suggests staying up to date on road conditions by following WSDOT on social media, checking out their online tools, calling their travel hotline, downloading the WSDOT app, or pre-programming your vehicle's radio to 540 am and 1610 am for highway advisory alerts.
