As of December 16th, many of the main forest roads on the Tonasket Ranger District will be closed for wildlife winter range protections and winter recreation. No wheeled and tracked vehicles are allowed on the roads excluding snowmobiles. Roads will be indicated they are closed with barricades, gates or berms of snow. The closure is a little late this year as they usually go into place on December 1st, but lack of snow caused the closure to be postponed. The closure typically ends on April 1st or when snow conditions allow the reopen. Folks who still want a Christmas tree or firewood can contact the Tonasket Ranger District for roads that will remain open.
