Man Sentenced 9 Years Federal Prison Time for 2020 Coulee Dam Carjacking

An enrolled Colville Tribes member, Kyle Steven Scott Cate, is being sentenced to almost nine years in federal prison due to a 2020 carjacking in Coulee Dam.

Our news partner, iFiberone, reports in April 2020, Cate was banging on the door to a home when the homeowner answered. Cate asked for a ride to Nespelem and when the victim declined, Cate pulled out a pistol and stole the victim's Subaru Legacy at gunpoint.

Cate pled guilty to carjacking and felon in possession of a firearm.
