Kenneth Allen Crabtree, the man sought by East Wenatchee police after he handed a 13-year-old Eastmont Junior High student a cell phone last week, is now in custody after being picked up by Douglas County Sheriff's deputies on an unrelated warrant.

Chief Rick Johnson stated that investigators believe the 35-year-old Crabtree and the student had some sort of communication prior to the cell phone drop-off and they are trying to determine the nature of that communication.

"There are still interviews being conducted and search warrants being sought to determine exactly what the contents of their communications were," said Johnson.

Crabtree was found by deputies in the 2800 block of 10th Street in East Wenatchee Monday morning and arrested on an unrelated warrant for criminal trespass.
