East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford is not at all too happy about the Washington State Redistricting Commission's final legislative map.

Crawford said just separating Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, which in many ways work very closely together, into different districts is frustrating enough.

"To actually have a dividing line right in my own community, for East Wenatchee to have part in one district and part in another, it just does not make sense," said Crawford.

Crawford adds that there could be a silver lining to the situation if the city is able to leverage both districts' legislators for important work.

The state legislature will either vote to approve the maps in January, or can amend the maps with a two-thirds vote in both chambers.
