East Wenatchee Mayor Jerrilea Crawford will get the opportunity to take a ride in her childhood when she participates in the Les Schwab Classy Chassis Parade June 11th.

Crawford said she'll be riding in a 1954 Corvette previously owned by her grandfather.

"I was very, very close to my grandfather. He wanted to restore this Corvette and was never able to finish that before he passed away. So he sold it to someone locally who did put a lot of money into it. It is a gorgeous car."

According to Crawford, the current owner was not thrilled about the cost to insure the vehicle in order to drive it around and initially said no. But, somehow someway, the owner changed his mind.

The parade kicks off at 6:00 pm. Those looking to participate can register online until June 4th.
