A Minnesota woman experienced a medical event and appeared to fall unconscious before losing control of her vehicle on I-90 near Cle Elum Friday just before noon.

Trooper John Bryant said 66-year-old Joleen Ajootian was driving a Dodge Grand Caravan westbound when she left the road, went through the median, traveled across the eastbound lanes and bounced off of the eastbound guardrail back towards the westbound side.

"One of the witnesses said the van kind of jumped the median, so kind of a Duke's of Hazard type thing." explained Bryant, "It went over the median into the westbound lane, struck an F350 pickup and then stopped against a fence line near the westbound Indian John rest area."

Ajootian was transported to Kittitas Valley Healthcare in Ellensburg and was last reported as being in stable condition. The driver of the pickup was uninjured and a passenger of his was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The right westbound lane was closed for about 1 1/2 hours.

Ajootian will not be charged in the incident.
