The Chelan County Sheriff's Office is still searching for more information regarding the death of 25-year-old Callie Childers of Everett.

Childers' remains was found near Stevens Pass and her car was reported to be on fire outside of Snohomish hours after the discovery.

The development of the burning car creates a narrow timeline for investigators. It's thought that Childers was either murdered at the Stevens Pass location or her body was dumped there the evening of Monday, September 6th. A passing motorist then spotted Childers' remains the afternoon of Tuesday, September 7th. Just a few hours later Childers' car, a black 2013 Chrysler 200, was found on fire in the 6200 block of Lowell Snohomish River Road in Snohomish County.

Childers is connected to a Marysville address but she was most recently known to be transient in the Everett area.

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett said the extensive investigation not only includes his office, but also the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, the Washington State Patrol and its crime lab, and Everett and Marysville police.

"Big shout out to those agencies and their staff." stated Burnett, "They're busy agencies already and they are lending us a great hand on how we can attack this and go after and find suspects. I think we're on a good lead and I think we're going to do a great job and we're going to end up making arrests out of this."

Burnett added that a potential gang affiliation may have had something to do with Childers' murder. Investigators believe they have some persons of interest.
