The Alatheia Therapeutic Riding Center, a local non-profit that uses therapeutic and adaptive riding programs for individuals with special needs, is hosting the 6th annual Run for the Roses benefit gala the evening of October 5th with southern charm intertwined in the theme. Kentucky Derby attire is recommended with a best dressed contest opportunity for a prize.

"It is a benefit fundraiser for the riders with special needs at Alatheia Riding Center. We'll have a plated dinner, a Diamond Dash presented by Button Jewelers and we'll have a live and silent auction," said Nancy Grette, executive director.

The evening will also be the debut a new video that features one of the riders and gives the audience some insight in what Alatheia aids individuals to accomplish.

"Tickets for the event can be obtained by calling the riding center or emailing," said Grette. "The deadline for those tickets is Friday, September 27th."

Grette reminds folks to think forget big, floppy Derby esque hat for the ladies and bowler hats and bowties for the gentlemen.

The event is at the Wenatchee Convention Center.
