North Cascades Bank Donates $50,000 to NCW Food Banks
North Cascades Bank is donating $50,000 to nine food banks throughout North Central Washington, from Wenatchee to Grand Coulee. The bank has been a staple contributor to community food banks, but opted to give this $50,000 due to the spike in demand due to COVID-19.
"One of our board members is Beth Stipe, who's the director of the Community Foundation of NCW, and we felt like we needed to get some funds out in the community," said Charlie Guildner, president and CEO. "And she said to us, 'the food banks are running especially low and the demand is especially high right now."
In Wenatchee, Lighthouse Ministries and Serve Wenatchee Valley received funds. Grand Coulee, Chelan, Twisp, Waterville and Okanogan food banks received funds. The Omak and Brewster food banks also received funding.
"We wanted to spread it to all of the markets that we serve, so we have nine branches and we had nine different food banks we wanted to spread it to," said Guildner.
