State Patrol and aid responded to a one vehicle accident on Highway 2 near the intersection of Coulter Creek Road, just west of Cole's Corner.

Trooper John Bryant said 27-year-old Ashley Arlene Day of Arlington, Washington was driving a Honda Pilot when the accident occurred.

"The roadway had some slight snow and some slush. Conditions weren't that great. In that area there are only a couple of lanes and the driver was in Lane 2, and just kind of lost control of the vehicle." Bryant explained, "Basically speeding too fast for conditions as she went around the curve and went off the roadway. Luckily she was wearing her seat belt, and airbags helped her out like they help everyone out."

Day was citing for speeding too fast for conditions and taken by ambulance to Cascade Medical Center. Bryant added that Day is pregnant, and Day's transport to Cascade Medical is likely out of precaution.

Traffic was slowed in the area, but the State Patrol was able to keep all lanes open during the incident.
