
Pedestrian Dies in Vehicle Accident on SR 28 in Ephrata Wednesday
An 82-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Ephrata Wednesday just after 11 am.
State Patrol Trooper John Bryant said Stefania Medzyak was within the painted crosswalk when she was struck by an eastbound Ford F350. The collision occurred at the intersection of Basin Street (SR 28) and 1st Ave NW.
Medzyak passed away at the scene.
32-year-old Larissa Castillo of Ephrata was charged will failure to yield to a pedestrian. Castillo was uninjured and drugs or alcohol are not thought to be a factor. The intersection was closed for about three hours.
