Chelan County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of a plane crash in Cashmere Sunday evening.

Corporal Lee Risdon says the initial call came from someone who noticed a plane have engine troubles.

"Crews from the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, Washington State Patrol and the local fire districts responded to the area and a plane that had crashed in the area of the 700 block of Pioneer Ave. The only occupant in the plane walked out safely on his own and was uninjured.

The plane crashed in a marsh area.

The pilot had just purchased it and was flying it home to Montana.
